I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2021 and my surgeon, Dr. Lee, gave me a few reconstruction plastic surgeons to choose from. After doing research, I chose Dr. Bidros and I'm so glad that I did. As nervous as I was going in, his calm and reassuring demeanor helped alleviate my anxieties. I decided to go with the DIEP flap surgery based on his knowledge and expertise and couldn't be happier! I was lucky that the double mastectomy removed my cancer and that I was able to continue with reconstruction 2 weeks later. I'm still in the healing process but having breasts that look and feel natural is awesome. I knew my biggest mental hurdle would be the change in my body but Dr. Bidros did an amazing job! Update: 11/20 This is a quite long, but I hope a helpful, thorough account of my journey...because I know how desperately I was looking for this kind of information in the midst of my worry and journey. I hope it helps someone out there <3 I required a bit of a reconstruction adjustment, typical to post-cancer flap reconstruction. I was pretty darned happy with how I looked after Dr. Bidros' first effort, I had a better body, and some nice, natural looking breasts, but some radiation-compromised tissue left some damage that showed itself later. I went through a revision in late October to address this issue, and 'touch up' (lipo some areas and some scars and other small issues Dr. Bidros felt he could approve upon after the healing gave way to a picture. I had a LOT of radiation to both breasts (3 time survivor), and was warned by everyone that my results would be affected. During my first reconstruction (at the time of my DBL MX), things looked great out of the gate. But, I had a nipple failure on my right side as well as a couple other place of concern (help wanted, lol)- it wasn't a disaster, but I wanted better. More so, my great doctor did, too. After discussion about how, where, and why, and my fear of taking ANYTHING from the amazing left gorgeous breast I have now, he managed to build me a equally amazing right nipple from a wee bit of earlobe. It is amazing. I am so happy, willing to talk to anyone considering Dr. Bidros, and have sent three of my dear friends to him for consultation, because, well, he made me feel like a real, live, human, pretty woman for the first time since my first diagnosis in 2013. And his staff....they behave in a way that makes me believe they think about him in that very same respect. They are caring, responsive, and on top of their respective roles that makes every experience with them a complete pleasure. Honestly, I'll miss them when, inevitably,I will no longer need their services. More

In May of this year I saw Dr. Bidros for Plastic Surgery. I had just been informed that I had cancer and would need a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. I was actually in shock and everything that anyone told me was not real. At first, everything was negative and I wanted no part of anything especially surgery. On May 25th the surgery was performed and Dr. Bidros did a fantastic procedure. On July 4th I developed a hematoma and on the 5th was my second surgery and as he completed the second surgery he was able to do the total reconstructive surgery. As of today, July 27th I am doing fantastic. Dr. Bidros performed an excellent reconstructive surgery and has an excellent personality and bedside manner. His Assistant, Mandy is wonderful with his patients and makes you feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bidros to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and wants excellent work. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and Dr. Bidros did a breast reduction and a breast lift..I look like a 20 year old girl now, thanks to Dr. Bidros. He walked me through what will happen in the surgery in details. He made lots of follow ups after the surgery. He made me feel that I'm his only and most important patient he has. After meeting Dr. Bidros I read of the types of reconstruction and Dr. Bidros happened to do that surgery. Very few surgeons are qualified for that surgery! I am honored and appreciative that Dr. Bidros was my Surgeon. Not that he ever needs recommendations, I will always be grateful that he made me whole again. Breast Reconstruction with Mentor Implants. Houston, TX - I don't see how there could be a better plastic surgeon anywhere. Dr. Bidros has it all....great skills, patience while explaining procedures, great bedside manner and a wonderful staff. My tissue expanders were placed in at mastectomy by another plastic surgeon. I am a 44 yr old breast cancer survivor, I have seen my share of doctors. I had a bilateral mastectomy with DIEP Flap recon from another surgeon. When I went to see Dr Bidros, he was very compassionate and understanding about my concerns for my 2nd stage of reconstruction. After talking with him and his staff, I am finally excited about getting on with my life and liking what I see when I take my shirt off. I do not have implants and don't want them, due to a high risk of recurrence. He is working with me to get the results I am hoping for. Much Needed Breast Reconstruction Revision!!!! - Houston - Came see Dr. Bidros for breast reconstruction consult, I was very asymmetrical and not happy with my body appearance.
